Works in Progress / Re: MG Zeta Plus S1
« on: February 14, 2018, 02:11:34 AM »
^^ Thank you very much, still working at it :D

I still have more work to go on both the shield and rifle, but I've made a little detour to work on the chest section, while I figure out more. So I've added some pla plate to the chest transformation parts so the head won't move down anymore. Removed the seam line across the side of the chest and then pla plated for good measure.

Still plenty more work to go, but I'll have to cut it off by the end of the month so I can get it painted for the contest in time.

Been working on my Zeta Plus, specifically been scratch building a shield since the nose cone doesn't make sense when it doesn't transform and I wanted to bulk up the rifle a little bit too, because it feels a little 2 dimensional. Not done yet but I've added a guard over the hand.

Got some work done on the rifle and binders. Removed the seam lines on the rifle. The binders I've been adding a few extra wing attachments with laptop screws and magnets and a bit of 90 deg angled pla-plate to keep it up right.

^^Thank you very much!

Progress! I've changed up the main camera and v-fin assembly on the Zeta Plus. I've been tweaking the tail fin as well, I've cut a gap and added some movable fins on the tail.  Pretty happy with it so far. Next up I'll be working on the binders!

So this is my entry into the Gunpla Builders Association's 2018 Cannon Fodder Contest. I'm starting with an MG Zeta Plus A1 Test Type, and I would like to mod it into something of a sniper type, not entirely unlike the C1, but maybe a bit more robust or aggressive looking. I'm going to be scrapping the idea of a transformation, adding things that won't work in wave-rider mode. I have an old S-Gundam I'll be parting out in the course of this.

To start with I've robbed the S-Gundam of its main weapon for the Zeta Plus. I've added front skirts and new side skirts since I didn't particularly like the beam rifle side skirts from before.

Next up I want to remove the v-fin and replace it with something more Delta Plus.

Showcase / Re: HG Gusion Rebake [Speed Build]

^^So we're running it as a Group Build over at Gundam Eclipse right now essentially you're given a specific amount of time to fully complete a kit. I enjoy it as kind of challenge, it's a fun way to push through a build.

We set the limits as:
- 24hr/48hrs to complete a SD kit
- 72/96 hrs for a HG/ RE sets
- up to a full week for a MG/ RG kits

I finished this one in a little under 50 hours, and admittedly this turned out a little rough in a handful of places.

Showcase / HG Kimaris Trooper [Speed Build]

Its taken me forever to get this flat coated and then to actually take photos of this and the
Gusion Rebake that I built for a speed build, pretty sad considering that detail.

Anyway now that its done I'm pretty pleased with the results, I made them as a kind of
matched set to go with the Hyakuri I built previously.

Last WIP for the Trooper!
It took a little longer than the Gusion did, but I'm fairly pleased with the results.
So again I've painted and weathered it to match both the Hyakuri and the Gusion.
I'm a little on the fence as to whether I will come back to decal later or not.

Anyway came out to 52 hours or so.

Progress!
Alright, so I've been removing mold lines, scratch building a new rear skirt, gluing a few things here and there, and patching some holes in the reverse of the shield.

Hello out there!

This is the time stamp for my second speed build this season, a HG Kimaris Trooper. At this point it still doesn't look like much, but I plan to have it all tied up in the next 48 hours or so.
So to start of done some of the basic stuff, I've done away with the rear skirt and the most egregious of seam lines: the entire length of the lance. The lance alone was probably far more time consuming than any part.

Really I was given 72 hours to get this done but I really won't have any time whatsoever this week so its getting done right now.
If anything I need to add a flat coat before I take any proper photos to finish it up properly.

Anyway I've weathered this very lightly, and I quite like how it came out.

46.5 hours in.
I've got paint.
Anywho, I don't think that I'm gonna decal this but I'm going to try to weather it similarly to the Hyakuri as well.

End of day two.
I've got all my parts prepped for paint. I've removed the mold lines, sanded, and just all prepped paint.
So I'll get going on paint tomorrow, as of right now I'm thinking I'll paint this to match my Hyakuri.
