Just looking to order some paints etc and having a look online for tutorials and tips.

There is some much expert advise around, it looks like this hobby has some die hard and talented members.

I am not currently debating on converting my garden shed into a small hobby room.

Do it!

wow very nice work, I really like the details you've picked out in the more mechanical parts, and the panel lines are super sharp. Nice wear and tear effect too. Simple and effective colour scheme too. Thanks for sharing!

Great designs, I like the depth you managed to acheive on the visors too. Nice little details catching my eye too.

Nice, very unique! A proper brawler Zaku. Colour choices and weathering are nicely done - the bullet hole in the skirt is a nice touch. Fist blades are a good touch too. Decal work is fantastic, can’t spot a single edge or silver - what’s the secret!? I feel like something is missing from the right shoulder where the hole is. Panel lining is pretty non existent - however I don’t think it actually needs it. Swords are acceptably brutish. Great concept all around and very well presented. Thanks for your entry!

Fantastic colour choices, and a really well thought through concept. Paintwork is sharp, detailing is good and the modifications really fit the idea. Enjoying the ‘bracer’ pistons on the thighs, assuming these are to help support the MS in firing mode. The small scuffs and dirt patches are a good touch. The cables where I think work fine on this kit, just stick out os being electrical wires. I think this is just my brain so don’t take this as legitimate criticism. I like how you mounted the rifle on the forearm, and the large shoulder guns look pretty natural - although I would have bore out the barrels to have proper deep holes. Really great work, thanks for entering!

Very nice shimmering paintwork with some well placed blue accents, really easy on the eye with enough contrast to make you take a second look on each image. Very nicely detailed, especially enjoying the thruster work on the legs. Well executed ’space type’ concept all round but perhaps could be a little more unique? No modelling criticisms that are anything more than nipticky for me, just smashing stuff and thank you for entering!

ah, great concept! Not often seen an north african GM variant. Nice environmental-appropriate sand and dust weathering. Enjoying the ominous glow behaving the visor too. Enjoying the small additional detailing work, especially on the tops of the shoulders. Some detail looks a little soft - but I think this adds to the ‘constantly in use’ look. Really like the markings too. My only criticism is those gaps in the shins, but I think I can put this down to subjectivity as it could be interpreted
as a detail. Great work, thank you for entering :)

Photo’s are not really adequate to be honest, but i’ll try my best to give some feedback. It’s very clean, I have built this kit too and it looks pretty much like it does out of the box. Some nice paint apps to bring out a little more detail. I can spot a few seam lines here and there and those horrific holes on the backs of the shield arms are very visible, one of the let downs with this kit but it can be fixed. Thanks for your entry!

Firstly, I really admire your persistence - this is what makes (to me) a good modeller. Reading your entry notes too is a really good perspective, one in which I think we all experience the more we learn. Your entry, very clean, very glossy, very high contrast. As you mention, I think the blue has come out too dark, but I think it could have worked if the yellow where to be bought down a tone with a touch of red, leaning it more towards amber. The rifle is pretty sniper style, not sure if it fits with the concept of the kit but none the less looks pretty wicked. Enjoying the additional plating, adds a touch more ‘heavy’ to the kit. Perhaps a matt coat will help make the kit more consistent and less contrasted? Thank you for entering and well done :)

Awesome. It’s almost a stop-gap between Jesta cannon and Stark Jegan, great concept. Well placed and weathered modification. Enjoying the post-explosion dirt look. Quite a unique colour scheme too, the greys/pale blues and reds work well and balance out. Excellent load out with great detailing. I do spot a couple of mistakes here and there - on the cartridge for the bazooka (dried panel line splodge) and visible seam line on the shoulder vents (these are tricky to remove, I am in the process of removing them for another kit) and some very minor silvering on decals. Not much to fault, and a very excellent entry. Thanks!

A fair attempt, the all-black look could be better with some different shades and perhaps a brighter colour panel lining to give some contrast. Photographs provided are a little blurry so some aspects where not all that visible. For first-time pla plating it’s not that bad, I think it looks better than my first attempts. You’ve shown a good understanding of the process of modifying stock kits for purpose. I would however advise working on foundational skills such as painting, seam line removal and panel lining before tackling heavy modification. Thank you for entering, I know entering any compo as a beginner can be a little daunting, just keep on working on those skills - you’ll improve much quicker than you expect.

Some pretty well executed modifications made and enjoying the experimental flavour of the paint work, edge highlighting is really nice and rarely seen. Has a real ‘bleached’ look about it, like it’s been in a desert tundra. Could use a little more detail and panel lining is a little faint. Manages to stick to a pretty close to ‘modified stock GM’ but lacks a little originality. Gatling gun is awesome though. Thank you for entering :)
