Works in Progress / Re: MG Zeta Plus S1

^^ Thank you very much, still working at it :D

I still have more work to go on both the shield and rifle, but I've made a little detour to work on the chest section, while I figure out more. So I've added some pla plate to the chest transformation parts so the head won't move down anymore. Removed the seam line across the side of the chest and then pla plated for good measure.

Still plenty more work to go, but I'll have to cut it off by the end of the month so I can get it painted for the contest in time.

Another commission and another Astray, even though I love the Astray design I am REALLY getting some Astray fatigue.
Custom kit bash with a modified backpack.

A lot of paint rub issues on this that took a bunch of retouches to fix, but the client was happy when he received it so I'm good.

The WIP can be found here

Been working on my Zeta Plus, specifically been scratch building a shield since the nose cone doesn't make sense when it doesn't transform and I wanted to bulk up the rifle a little bit too, because it feels a little 2 dimensional. Not done yet but I've added a guard over the hand.

Got some work done on the rifle and binders. Removed the seam lines on the rifle. The binders I've been adding a few extra wing attachments with laptop screws and magnets and a bit of 90 deg angled pla-plate to keep it up right.

^^Thank you very much!

Progress! I've changed up the main camera and v-fin assembly on the Zeta Plus. I've been tweaking the tail fin as well, I've cut a gap and added some movable fins on the tail.  Pretty happy with it so far. Next up I'll be working on the binders!

Forum Issues / The Mecha Lounge, and it's future
« Last post by GundamUK on January 23, 2018, 10:06:50 AM »
Hi All, a couple of weeks back I was tinkering with the forum to give ti a bit of a facelift, however I ended up mashing up the whole site and realised how fragile and archaic it really is lol.

Unfortunately, development for this forum software is slowing to a crawl, so I am in the process of looking for a new solution. The idea of this website is to provide the following:

-An easy to search index of tutorials, advice, resources and knowledge on mecha modelling.
-A place for modellers of all skills to show their work, and receive helpful, constructive feedback.
-A place for modellers to interact with each other, make friends, gain experience and have access to experts.
-A place for modellers to regularly compete, to push and test each others skills. To win prizes!
-A place that can be the number 1 website for mecha modellers to visit, worldwide.

I think it would also be awesome to have a rating system, similar to that which Modellers-G uses where registered users can cast votes. Monthly and annual overall modellers can win prizes of some kind.

Any feedback, suggestions or solutions much appreciated. The Mecha Lounge will continue to exist, but this forum in it's current form will be going. In order to meet all the objectives above it's going to take money, and it's going to take time and dedication. Any support you can provide as the new Mecha Lounge evolves will be much appreciated. It will not ammount to anything, without the support and interest of the Mecha community.

More updates will be added.

So this is my entry into the Gunpla Builders Association's 2018 Cannon Fodder Contest. I'm starting with an MG Zeta Plus A1 Test Type, and I would like to mod it into something of a sniper type, not entirely unlike the C1, but maybe a bit more robust or aggressive looking. I'm going to be scrapping the idea of a transformation, adding things that won't work in wave-rider mode. I have an old S-Gundam I'll be parting out in the course of this.

To start with I've robbed the S-Gundam of its main weapon for the Zeta Plus. I've added front skirts and new side skirts since I didn't particularly like the beam rifle side skirts from before.

Next up I want to remove the v-fin and replace it with something more Delta Plus.
