The Pastel Sinanju
« on: September 13, 2016, 07:42:48 PM »
as forum is just getting started and im half way through this build will give quick overview and then will just dump a ton of pics to get everyone up to speed.

so doing a MG sinanju, with a side3 resin dress up kit and a gold metal parts set.

paint is gaia and mr color pastels, main color was going to be standard emerald green gaia but was too dark so added 50/50 white and now is much nicer warm but light spearmint color, also used yellow and pink and they were also mixed with white to give pastel tone.
also using lavender and gray for the shield and cuffs.
inner frame is gloss white.

dress up kit comes with bazooka and gatlings to fit to shield meaning i can use the stock bazooka and beam rifle combo in other hand for more awesomeness and should help balance everything out meaning i dont need a stand. :P

decals are a mix of 3rd party logos and stripes and for all the warning decals il be using plain white HIQ warnings. i found a over sized (1/60) 3rd party sinanju decal set on taobao meaning i have some really big logos on the kit which is to my taste, but perhaps not to everyones.

i also bought the full armor unicorn fuel tanks a couple of months ago and will use them for a sazabi, that means i can use the sazabi tanks on this kit and have modded them to fit.
will just show some pics of what ive done so far.

I wouldn't have expected Sinanju top look that good in a pastel green colour scheme!
Slick work on all that masking too.
When it asks, "Are you a robot?"
Is "I wish" an acceptable answer?

Lovely little mods you're adding in there, not too overdone too just subtle and in context. Paint scheme is marvellous too, nice combination!

Do you use a dremel tool for adding holes or pin vice to grip the bits by hand?

Looks top tier sir. Been meaning to ask if you did all the scribing and detailing yourself or if this was a dress up kit

yeah just by hand, i do have a dremel type small hand drill can never be bothered to plug it in.  ::)

yeah not alot of mods, just a few little do-dads so the plastic armor parts dont feel plain next to the resin parts.

well its been a long time, well feels like it anyway.
ive got everything prepped, ive just primed the armor so thats all white and ready for colors, ive got the inner frame all ready, polished all the nubs out so i can gloss without primer, and ive gotthe beamrifle, 2 bazookas and the double gatling all prepped and soaking in cleaner which il rinse in the next day or two, the seam fitting was a nightmare. so il have a ton of updates in the coming days, i would like to finish this in the next 2 or 3 weeks. :)

A painful reminder that I keep forgetting to polish those nubs on metallics.

I don't know why, but the colours are reminding me of the Green Divers Zeta variant…..just because of the pastel shades.

thanks for the kind replies :)
so doing second half of armor, its all mostly the mint green but heres some of the parts ive masked to do different colored panels.
i guess another round of masking tomorrow and some detail painting still to do before i can start decalling.
the fuel tanks have turned out ok, didnt really like the middle gray, seems too warm. its growing on me but im annoyed that its nothing like what was advertised when buying, just said gaia neutral gray when its really a light sea gray, oh well.
not sure if it shows in the photos but all the parts where you see the other side of plastic has been done in the darker green, hopefully it will show when finished.

i think once this armor is finished il be on the home stretch, the inner frame will only take a day and the weapons should only take 2 or 3 days.
