Tallgeese Boros
« on: September 19, 2016, 08:45:37 AM »
Here's what I've got on the operating table at the moment. Basically a kitbash of an mg tallgeese 3 and an hg garazzo, with some freedom and virtue bits thrown in for good measure  ;D. Just finished the 1st priming stage to check for any surface defects and seams that may have survived. I'll be puttying those up, sand them and then prime again.

The primer is a tad rougher than where I wanted it to be, so some wet sanding is in order before I finally head to paint. I've been building this thing for a while, you can see the older WIP posts on my blog here:

very interesting blend of kits, yet very smooth and when primer the kits seems a whole not a bunch of kits randomly assembled. Good work, can't wait for the outcome

Looking great, quite surprised the 2 different scale mix so well, garazzo is definitely a interesting different design

That is really cool, the flow of this monster is sweet!
When it asks, "Are you a robot?"
Is "I wish" an acceptable answer?

The Wing line of MGs tend to be smaller than Seed, and the Garazzo had oversized shoulders so it blended ok.

Thanks for all the props guys! Update time! Had to deal with a crapload of cleanup on this build, with pesky seams that just didn't want to die. I finally eliminated all of them (as far as I can tell) and started to paint it.

I just posted a WIP update on the blog for details on my progress:

My Gundam knowledge is really thin and that doesn't look like a kitbash to me, it looks like it's meant to be that way.
Very good job on the bashing!

Looking very pro of course. And nobody will ever find an unattended seamline on your kitbashes, that's for sure  :)

I'm just glad you guys agree that the two kits blend well, now I know I'm not crazy lol!

I seriously doubt that, but I am trying my best!

Thanks! Yes the 1/1 scale house is one hell of a project, but will be so worth it when it's done. Can't wait to start building in my new work space!

Quickie update! I'm about 95% done with the painting, with only a few parts still mounted on sticks. I've gone through panel lining and am now working on the decals, which is always a ton of fun.

As added motivation to actually finish it this year, I decided to attend an upcoming competition hosted by a local modeling group. Can't wait to see this thing all built up!

What happened to the paintjob so you had to strip some parts?

ah you saw that, I goofed bigtime  :-[. I was topcoating, which as we all know is the best time to F up, and as I was working on the right leg it popped off of the painting stick. Caught it with my hands, smudged paint all over the place. I had no choice but to completely redo the parts that I touched.   :o
